Enjoy a More Comfortable Approach to Wisdom Tooth Extractions

If your wisdom teeth are impacted, you can trust our dentist to comfortably and safely remove them. Our Merritt Island, FL, dental office has two methods to keep you at ease as we treat your teeth and improve your oral wellness:

Local Anesthesia

This is a type of anesthesia, or pain-blocking medication, applied directly to a certain area before a dental procedure. In this case, that would be your jaw and gums where your wisdom tooth or teeth are present. The anesthesia will keep you comfortable and numb as our dentist removes your tooth.

Sedation Dentistry

Whether we're removing wisdom teeth or performing a routine procedure, our patients sometimes need a little extra help staying calm. We're happy to provide nitrous oxide. It's entirely adjustable, and once we're done treating your mouth, it will quickly leave your system, allowing you to drive yourself home.

Dental Consultation

Dr. Cork will examine your teeth, gums, and jaw. We may also take X-rays or use 3D cone beam computed tomography to better assess the condition and location of your teeth and oral structures.

Anesthetic & Sedation

We want all our patients to be comfortable and at ease during their dental visits. To make that possible, we can apply a local anesthetic and administer nitrous oxide before we begin the removal process.

Accessing the Tooth

Our Merritt Island, FL, dentist will ensure that your mouth is sterile. Then, he may loosen your tooth or make an opening in your gums around your affected teeth.

Removing the Tooth

Next, our dentist will remove your tooth and all its roots.

Closing the Area

Once each tooth has been taken out, our dentist will clean the area. He may also close your gums using sutures.

Gauze

As a final touch, Dr. Cork might lay gauze over your treatment sites and ask you to bite down on it. This can slow and eventually halt any bleeding you may experience.
